Onsite Fuel Sampling

Diesel fuel starts to degrade in as little as 6 months. Fuel Fix will test for water contamination, fuel oxidation, and sludge. Water is your enemy! Water can accumulate due to condensation from temperature changes from every Florida evening cool off and reheating throughout the day leading to bacterial growth, mold, yeast! This manifests as sludge on the bottom and sides of the fuel tank. When the sludge clogs up your filters, your engine will need more maintenance and parts may fail. Keeping track of your fuel quality may save you thousands.

Fuel samples will show the amount of water and contaminates in gas, diesel or bio-diesel fuel tanks.

  • Take one sample from the top 1/4 of the tank to check for clarity.
  • Take another from the tank bottom to check for water, emulsification, and particulates.
  • Compare the two samples.
  • If no contamination is found (which is not likely) take another sample in 30 days or after fuel delivery.

Check Sample Fluid For Contaminates:

  • Look for clarity and uniform color
  • Look for particles of rust and debris
  • Look for sludge
  • Layers of color may indicate bottom water or phase separation
